I don’t remember the last time I had this much fun at a show. Suicide Machines were some of the biggest inspiration for my old band and half of our material. The song “Hey” by itself was life changing. I’d never heard a ska song that all out changed tempo 3 times in the first minute. I found a bunch of bruises I don’t remember getting, I’m stiff, my ears are ringing… I feel like a walking example of Thrashhard by DRI. I talked for a little while with Jason after the set and to my surprise he was wearing a Resistant Culture patch and booked shows for them, the same band who once borrowed my bass cab at a house show here. I talked to a bunch of cool people and had the time of my life. I thrashed my ass off after working a 13 hour day. I collapsed when I got home and I would do it all again if I could. Thanks Suicide Machines for being awesome and to all the kids at the show who made it worth while. I danced so hard during Do It With Malice (buffalo ska/metal) they gave me a free hoodie. Those dudes are rad and I’m sad they’re not doing more shows but they’ve had a good run. I miss being in a ska band. Who knows what the future holds…
